At Smoke Rise, all children are important.
Our goal is to teach each child they can trust God no matter what, they should treat others the way they want to be treated, and they don’t have to grow up to lead in Church, they can lead now. From weekly Sunday morning worship to our yearly Family mission trip, we at Smoke Rise strive to give children every opportunity to make a belief in Christ their own.
We have a variety of programs throughout the year for faith formation such as: Bible study and memorization, opportunities to lead worship, missions study, and worship development.
What to Expect on Sundays
Children in kindergarten and below attend Sunday School on the main level. Check in near the fish tank at the weekday school entrance, to be shown to your classroom. Children in this age group are also welcome to join their teachers during the 9 and 11 o’clock worship hours.
During the Sunday School hour, children in 1st – 5th grades will go to the 3rd floor and start in their graded classrooms. All grades join together for a large group to discuss the lesson together, and then are ready by the end of the hour for pickup. On first, third, and fifth Sundays, 1st-4th graders have the opportunity to participate in Children’s Worship during the 11 o’clock worship time. Children will attend worship with their families, and, at the designated time, join their peers and leaders for a worship experience in the Children’s Suite based off the sermon in the worship service.
