Youth Ministry

It is the mission of Smoke Rise Youth to be the hands and feet of Christ in our schools, communities, and beyond.

SRBC Youth Ministry is open and accepting of all types of teenagers, with all types of interests and abilities. Everyone is welcome here! There are many ways teenagers can engage in our youth ministry including:

Sunday Morning Activities

  • Sunday Morning Bible Study from 9:45-10:50am in the Basement
  • Sunday Morning Worship at 11:00am in the Sanctuary

Sunday Night Activities

  • 4:00-5:00pm Youth Bells

Wednesday Night Activities

  • 6:30-7:15pm The Gathering in the Basement (Spiritual, Social, and Service)
    During this time together, we open with games and group activities. Then, we transition into a devotion. Some evenings, we will have a service project included.

    Focus: Our youth ministry focuses on providing our students with Spiritual, Service, and Social opportunities. These are three crucial areas of development for youth. Our activities above are marked to show these emphases.

 

Special Events & Retreats

  • Palooza Back to School Party- August
  • ReCharge Fall Retreat- October More info about Recharge
    Oct. 4-6 CBF of GA’s Recharge Fall Retreat each year at Woodland Christian Camp in Temple, GA. It is a wonderful real “camp” experience where students worship and play with youth from 5-6 other churches.
  • The Hunger Games - Oct. 27 in the Fellowship Hall from 4:00-6:00pm
    Youth will be invited in the weeks prior to form teams of four youth to compete in these “Hunger Games.” Students will be collecting canned and dry food items for this evening, where they will, as a team, create a canned good structure. (google “canned food structures” to get an idea of what we will be doing.) All structures will be judged and each member of the winning team will receive a free Winter Retreat! All the food collected will be split between the Lilburn/Stone Mountain Co-ops and Edgewood Church’s Food Pantry.
  • Churchwide Thanksgiving Activity and Mission Emphasis- Nov. 20 in the Fellowship Hall from 6:30-7:15pm.
  • Churchwide Thanksgiving Dinner and Mission Opportunity- Nov. 24 in the Fellowship Hall.
  • Youth Christmas Party- Dec. 18 from 6:00-7:15pm in the Basement
  • Caroling in an Assisted Living Home- TBA
  • Winter Retreat, Dec. 28-31 to Gatlinburg, TN
  • Valentine Dessert Theater- February
