Our school hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 AM-1:30 PM.
We have additional enrichment opportunities for our potty-trained three-year-olds and four-year-olds on Mondays and after school.

In this class, children begin learning to sit at a table, participate in circle time and potty training is encouraged. This class uses the Zoo Phonics curriculum.

Potty training is a big focus of this class and all children should be working on it at home as well. This class uses the Zoo Phonics curriculum.

Designed as a 4 day class, but parents may choose 3 days a week if that works better for your child.
While accidents happen and every child is at a different developmental stage, children should be able to go to the potty with minimal assistance. Please discuss with your child’s teacher and the director of the school with any concerns you may have. This class uses the Zoo Phonics curriculum.

The focus of this class is Kindergarten readiness and need to be four by September 1. A strong foundation is built in pre-reading skills, beginning math skills, fine motor skills, group learning and cooperation. This class uses Zoo Phonics and Mathematics Their Way as curriculum guides.

Monday Octopus Class
The focus is cooperative play, themed art projects and story telling.
After School Program
Our one-hour after school programs are announced at open house each year. Previously, we have offered programs such as nature club, lego club, art club, soccer, and dance.

Highlights of Our School
Each week, we hold a Letter Pep Rally where children are introduced to the letter of the week and the animal friend that helps bring learning to life. We also gather for weekly chapel, where our goal is for every child to know that they are known, valued, and deeply loved by God.
In addition to our regular classroom activities, we enjoy many special events and celebrations throughout the year. Some of our favorites include Camping Day, Farm Day, Fire Safety Day, our International Thanksgiving celebration, the Christmas Program, Dr. Seuss Day, the Spring Program and Picnic, Water Day, and Easter Party, just to name a few.
Our students also enjoy helping care for our school garden and class bunny, providing hands-on opportunities to learn responsibility, nurture living things, and connect with nature.
Our Staff
Rashette Walker, Director
Rashette began providing childcare at Smoke Rise Baptist Church for the Mother’s Bible Study group in 2015. From there, she began substitute teaching with the Weekday School and that led to a teaching position in the fall of 2016. Rashette accepted the Director’s position at the Weekday School in 2022. One of Rashette’s three children is a graduate of SRB Weekday School program.
Rebekah Edmonds, Assistant Director
Rebekah is a member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church. She is a mother of three has a daughter that is currently enrolled in the Weekday School. Rebekah accepted the position as the Weekday School Assistant Director in 2022. She has her undergraduate degree from Samford University and a Master of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University.

Smoke Rise Baptist Weekday School shares the facilities of Smoke Rise Baptist Church, located at 5901 Hugh Howell Road in Stone Mountain. We are near Stone Mountain Park, Stone Mountain Village, Tucker, and the Smoke Rise community. The school is convenient to families who reside in both DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties.
Directions
From I-285, take Hwy 78 East to Stone Mountain. Exit at Hugh Howell Road and go through the first traffic light. The church is on the left.
