Pilgrimage Gatherings – February 22- March 29 at 4:00 PM
Often, when we think of pilgrimage, we imagine a journey to a holy place. But what if pilgrimage could happen in your own backyard, simply by exploring and noticing God in your surroundings as well as His movement within yourself? This Lenten season, you are invited to journey with us, to slow down and discover God in the ordinary paths you walk each day. Mitzi Ethridge-Cantrell will lead a 40-day Lenten journey based on the Backyard Pilgrim by Matt Canlis. This pilgrimage involves traveling two paths: a local path of your own choosing and the historical path Jesus walked for us. Participants will walk individually throughout the week, then gather each Sunday to discuss questions arising from the daily Bible passages and to share stories, anecdotes, or encounters experienced while reading or walking outside. Both solitude with God and solidarity with others are vital to personal growth and lasting change. Join us as we read, pray, and walk together during the holy season of Lent.
