Summer improvements and upcoming projects help prepare our campus for another season of ministry.

Summer maintenance and repair have included significant work on the large cooling tower behind the building. This tower services 70 percent of the building as part of our HVAC system. The work so far represents only one phase of the process, as additional repairs continue in August. We have also completed deep cleaning of the kitchen floor, ice machine, hood and other kitchen equipment. The end of the summer also included our annual resealing of the gym floors along with the installation of luxury vinyl tile on our first-floor classrooms. Late summer projects that are underway also include deep cleaning of the fellowship hall carpets and replacing all the bulbs in the fellowship hall chandeliers, along with other targeted deep cleaning throughout our facilities in keeping with our commitment to do such annual deep cleaning in the late summer before a full schedule of regular activities resumes.
On the horizon, we will be replacing a 22-year-old rooftop HVAC unit that will continue to service the gym-level youth and children’s spaces. We are scheduled to begin baptistery renovations in August with installation of a new and larger pump, along with refinishing, sealing and water heating updates. We are also in the process of making additional roofing repairs to protect against rotting and extend the life of key run-off areas at our roofline. We also anticipate scheduling additional drainage updates and repairs as well as working to mitigate increased humidity in our music suite.
We are grateful for special gifts that help us to take on larger repairs and updates that would otherwise exceed our regular budgeted expenses.
