Each Wednesday, Smoke Rise offers an intentional midweek opportunity to pause, connect, and grow through fellowship, dinner, prayer, and Bible study for every age. Before everyone heads to their classes, we gather together as one church family to share a meal and build relationships across generations. While these moments may feel familiar to those of us who have grown up enjoying Mrs. Lou’s chicken, this kind of cross-generational community is both deeply needed and increasingly rare outside the walls of Smoke Rise.
Following dinner and prayer, children, students, and adults move into age-appropriate groups for engaging learning and conversation designed for every stage of life. Journey sessions explore a variety of biblical, topical, and spiritual subjects while creating meaningful opportunities to grow in faith and deepen relationships with one another.
While we hope you’ll be able to join us in person, we know that isn’t always possible. Each Wednesday evening around 5:50 p.m., we livestream our congregational time of prayer, allowing you to share in the joys and concerns of our church family from wherever you are. Following prayer, we continue the livestream with that week’s Journeys session, making it easy to stay connected and grow alongside our community even when you can’t be with us in person.
This fall, Journeys will begin with a church-wide study of the Lord’s Prayer led by Dr. Chris George. Together, we’ll explore the prayer Jesus taught us to pray and discover how it can shape and strengthen our own prayer lives. Whether you’ve been part of Journeys for years or are considering joining for the first time, this time offers a meaningful place to grow in faith and community.
