Read: Joshua 23
Devotion: As summer is wrapping up, we are getting closer to the start of a new year. We will be saying goodbye to our summer travels and hello to our new teachers and classmates soon. Thank you for traveling with us this far and being On the Go with God!
Our devotion this week is focusing on Joshua as he says his own goodbye to the people of Israel. He leaves them with specific instructions on how to live life after he is gone. He says to remember how God has saved them and brought them to their current moment of peace. He says to never forget the God they serve and not get swept up in what the other nations around them are doing.
A reminder to serve God faithfully even after Joshua is gone. As we return home for the summer and prepare to start school again, let us remember God who is with us through our travels and with us as we return to our school routine. We may be saying goodbye to our travel destinations but God will continue to be with us wherever we go. We are transitioning from On the Go with God to at Home with God.
Wonder: Have you ever had to say goodbye to a special place? How did that make you feel? Does it bring you comfort to know God is with you wherever you go?
Pray: Dear God, thank you for being present wherever my family and I may be. Thank you for being with us throughout this great summer. Help us transitions from travel mode to home mode. Amen.
Act: Write down some of your favorite travel moments this summer. Share with a friend or family member.
