Blog Post By Nyah K. (5th Grade): Science is Super!

In Smoke-rise Vacation Bible School one great rotation that the camp offers is science, and for the past few days I can infer that the experiments that our camp has been doing is mind blowing. For example on day one of camp student learned about Issac Newtons  Rule of physics, truly amazing stuff if you ask me! One camper that I interviewed, Franchesca Cordero confirmed that she hadn’t thought of Newtons rule of physics in that manner, as if it became more clearer to her on how physics worked. My client said that the whole experience was just overall fun for her.

On day 2 from my own personal experience I had more fun then I imagined doing science, me personally I came to this camp in first grade and now I’m a soon to be sixth grader. I can tell that the camp has changed a lot since I’ve last been here. But on day 2 the experiment was  more interactive than I imagined! I learned that you can relight a candle with just the smoke after you burn it out. Also we had made homemade compasses out of wax paper, a Sharpie, some scissors, a sewing needle, and a Barr magnet, and a cup of water. Very cool second day!

And on day three, which is also today you won’t believe this but the campers made bubbles… with dry ice! It was very amazing you should have seen it. They put some dry ice in a bowl and poured some hot water on it and then the campers took what looked like something from a car wash dipped it into some Dawn dish soap and  swiped it over  the bowl with the ice in it and then BAMM! A bubble it kept getting bigger ‘till it popped smoke! This is by far one of the best camps I’ve been to,I highly recommend. Thanks for reading, BYYE!
