Blog Post by Nathan B. (5th Grade)

VBS (Vacation Bible School) because you learn how to sew quilts/blankets in missions, and in crafts they are making drawings of God cars and in Recreation they are making Alters out of snacks like Rice Krispy Treats, Graham Crackers and they also play tag in Recreation too.

Recreation is when we take fun stuff and put them into bible stories like in cross the bridge they have to pick a path that they want to go and that shows how god was leading Moses out of Egypt and to a new place where they don’t have slaves, and how sometimes they wouldn’t take the path that God picked so they had a lot of obstacles and it took 40 years like it took us a long time to figure out what the path was.

Missions is when we talk about what happened back when Moses was around. We also try sewing with shoelaces and cut out cars and see what they made back in the day. And they also talk about how we are trying to save up to $600 so the sewing society can get more materials like more fabric, machines and string.

In Bible Story we talk about the dangers they had to go through so we can know how they were int he desert with no water or food while they were on the journey. We also do tasks like coloring sheets, crossword puzzles and grid puzzles. They ask you to do some fun things like trying to say the alphabet backwards and pointing out words in the room.

In science we make things like homemade compasses making 3D or 2D God cars and we also make sand art with colors of your choice like pink, red or blue etc. You can also shake the sand art and make your own colors or you can keep the way you had it and keep the layers that you made and put different colors in your jar.

VBS IS FUN
